On campus housing at FIU can be desirable to new and graduating students
Some of the best benefits for living on campus are that it is fairly affordable, no traffic, close to shopping centers, and of course they offer housing on a semester basis. Semester long leasing terms are exactly aligned with FIU's semester terms. The costs provided below are based off of a semester not annually.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE on campus housing I.E. pARKVIEW VSR eVERGLADES
Each residence hall has its own unique environment. Each offers slightly different housing styles. For example, University Apartments are the oldest and have the most dated kitchen appliances, farther away from the Freshman dorms and the cheapest.. Parkview is the newest and nicest offering newer appliances and a nicer atmosphere, but is on the pricey side.
If i live on campus how does it work with my gi bill?
The VA will not cover your housing at FIU if you decide to live on campus. What will happen is housing will give you a bill. It will be listed along with your tuition, but not included. The VA will pay the percentage of the tuition they are obligated to. Then any financial aid, grants, scholarships you receive will then be posted to pay the amount offered. Any remainder will have to be paid out of pocket, or in a payment plan. This kind of payment plan can be worked out with FIU housing
are the on campus housing offerings listed here all the options?
Yes, these dorms are all located on the Modesto Campus. They are the only official on campus housing options. However, there is a series of off campus housing options that are offered by FIU. The difference is these are privately owned, but exist for the most part to serve the needs of students.
Should i live on campus
Only you can answer that.Housing is hard,and if your new to the area it's even harder. On campus housing is safe, secure, and aligned with school. However, you have limited freedom, you can get cheaper housing off campus and you may have to room with people you don't like.
I see that some say "dining plan" what is this and should I get it?
The dining plan is a service to students where you can purchase a pre-set number of meals at the on campus dining facility called "Fresh Express". Additionally most come with dining dollars which can be used on campus or at the other restaurants on campus. It is a pricier option, but for students limited on time, and cooking isn't there thing consider it.
Can i get a meal plan if i live off campus?
Yes, it is not exclusive to FIU on campus students.
If i live on campus, do i have to deal with parties all the time and freshman living the college life?
Not really, depending on your roommates at the dorms, generally students are relatively tame. Being a veteran, you have to deal with. It is college and younger students may be irritating.
i'm a DEPENDENT, what is best for me?
It is the same either way. It depends on what you want. Your specific needs.
