You have a job at FIU, now what?
Congratulations you have a job on campus at FIU! Now you have to complete a few extra steps.
1. After you have been offered a job you have to do some preliminary screenings.
2. First, FIU HR will ask you to complete a background check. This is done through a third party known as True Screen. They will ask for name, address, previous addresses etc. This process is generally quick depending on the number of locations you have lived.
3. Additionally you have to get fingerprinted. This can be done on campus at Primera Casa 2nd floor "Recruitment."
4. After all this is completed you must log back into FIU jobs site and formally accept your job offer.
5. Once your job offer is accepted you will be asked to fill out forms such as your I-9, W-4, a FIU pledge, and show your original social security card.
6. Following all this you have to then fill out important tax information and send back. Often this is done electronically. An important note is these electronic forms don't work well with Google Chrome. Internet explorer will be your friend.
