Registering for classes for the first time at FIU can be daunting.
However lucky for you as a veteran you get "priority registration"
Which means you are first in line for classes. Which when selecting classes can literally make or break a semester. From finding good professors to organizing your schedule accordingly.

But you can select earlier....
FIU more often than not will post classes ahead of enrollment dates. This way professors can get organized and students can see which classes are available during which semester.
it is advisable to select your classes ahead of time and put them in your shopping cart. So that when the day and time arrives you can simply click enroll and be on your way. If this all sound unfamiliar to you, that is to be expected. We will go over this with you.

Let's begin
First go to your my.fiu.edu homepage and locate the section listed as"Academics." Then click enroll and you should see a picture similar to the one below:
Now that you have selected this you will want to add classes. Be sure that you are in the correct term! This is often overlooked and can cause some confusion.
Your next step is to search for the classes you want to add. Do this by clicking the search button. When you do you should see a window similar to the one below appear:

Find which class you are looking to for by using the class search fields. You can reduce the number of choices by specifying your class location and session.
Once the class is searched and is available for the term you are enrolling, you will then be given a nice and hopefully long list of classes to chose from. Be careful, because the choice you make will stay with you for the whole term. Therefore it is our recommendation that you search for each professor using the site "Rate my Professor"
This site maintains a list of student reviews which can help you determine which professors to chose. Remember this is student submitted reviews. Take it all with a grain of salt.
Now pick your classes
Find the class you like then add it to your shopping cart and then repeat for your other classes. If you have done this before your enrollment date it will show a button which says "enroll" once you have added a class to your shopping cart. However, you can not click this button. Simply add classes to your cart and wait. Once your enrollment is open then you can officially enroll.
